Our Online Academy is different to your typical online classes. It's an interactive experience that allows you to get involved and feel part of a special community. We structure your weekly training and give you guidance on how you can build on what we do. We're all in this together and you'll get to know your coaches and course mates whilst you train with us so you don't have to train alone! There’s something for everyone as we have launched Academies in 3 different disciplines!

Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy
Our Online Academy for Rhythmic Gymnastics will give you the boost that you need whilst training at home. Join a community of like-minded people who love the sport and are motivated to better themselves. On this course, you will receive quality coaching from a team of experts who are ready to help you to achieve your goals. Dance Academy
Our Dance Academy will take you on a journey where you will see your confidence and skill level grow each session. Be challenged with new styles, meet like minded people and work hard whilst earning rewards along the way. Your highly qualified teachers will give you individualised feedback to help you with those extra details that will make the difference. At the end, you’ll see the results when you learn new choreography and have the skills and confidence to perform it!

Kids Academy
The Online Kids Academy is a fun and engaging way to stay active at home. The sense of belonging and community will be the core of this programme with each member feeling like they are part of an exciting team. Our students will learn a variety of skills in dance, rhythmic gymnastics and fitness as well as experiencing lots of surprises along the way! All our Online Kids Academy members will receive an exciting gift pack (via post)!

Online Academy FAQs
What ages are the different Academies aimed at?
All of our classes are open and sessions are designed so that each individual can practice and learn at the edge of their own personal ability. Suitability for classes really depends on an individual’s confidence and experience levels. As a rough guide: our RG Academy is aimed at age 10+, our Dance Academy is aimed at age 8+ and our Kids Academy is for anyone in reception or older.
What level of experience do I need to join your Online Academy?
The variety and depth of information that our Academies offer mean that each person will get different things out of being a part of the course. Complete beginners are welcome to join us! The classes include the basics and you can learn at your own pace giving you a strong foundation for further learning.
Those who are more advanced will appreciate the huge range of deeper knowledge, exercises, tips and extension activities that we will set.
How does the 4 week course work?
Once you have signed up, you will be placed in a small, intimate group of other students who you will learn with and get to know throughout the course. Each week, your teachers will take you through the learning modules for that week. You will be able to ask your teachers and peers for feedback as well as share pictures, videos and thoughts about your progress through your class online chat group. At the end of the 4 weeks, all 3 Academies will come together and showcase their new skills for friends and family through an online show!
What is the time commitment and schedule for the Online Academy?
Please check the Course Book for your chosen Academy to see the timetable as this differs for each Academy. We believe that this course can be supplementary to your existing training programmes. Classes are live but we will be offering a range of bonus activities that can be completed in your own time. Those who want to do more can ask their teachers for extension exercises as well as taking part in the bonus activities. Some sessions will be recorded and can be accessed later if you cannot make a session, please ask the teachers in advance about this.
How much does the Online Academy cost?
We have worked hard to make our Online Academy as accessible as possible. Each Academy has its own price with an All Access package priced at £150. Be sure to check out the course outcomes for each Academy to see what you will be getting for your money. If your financial situation has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and is preventing you from joining the Online Academy, please email us at info@i-staracademy.co.uk and we will do our best to help you.
What happens if I miss a session?
If you cannot make a session, please let your teacher know and they can help you to catch up or if the session was recorded, they can share this with you. It is not compulsory to attend all sessions but the more sessions you attend, the better you will do on our reward system!
I am a coach, can I join?
Yes of course! Please also feel free to share with your students. Our aim is to build a community of like-minded people to encourage each other to stay motivated at home.
What’s the Zoom link to join?
There are no Zoom links. If you sign up via the website you will then receive instructions on how to access our sessions.
Can siblings join for free?
All of our Online Academy prices are per household however, if you have 2 or more siblings on the same programme you will need to purchase additional gift packs for each student HERE.
What time zone are the sessions?
All sessions are UK GMT time. International students are more than welcome to join us. If the time doesn’t work for you there will be parts of the full Academy programme that will be recorded so members can re-watch at any time.
When does the next course start?
Our second Online Academy course will start from Monday 22nd February 2021.
Do you have to be a member of i-star Academy to access the online academy?
No! Anyone and everyone can join our online academies. We want to bring the community together and give everyone a chance to be a part of something whist staying motivated and active at home.
I am already doing online classes with my club, how will I benefit from joining the Online Academy as well?
Our Online Academy is more than just online classes. This programme is designed to give you the tools you need to continuously better yourself. The skills that you will learn along with the motivating community you are joining will help you to get even more out of any additional classes that you are taking. It’s the perfect addition to your existing training programme!
What should I wear?
We recommend that you wear clothes suitable for the activity (dance or gymnastics) that are easy to move in. Please also make sure that you have some water available should you need it. Hair should be tied up.
My children would like to take part in your Online Academy, how are you ensuring online safety?
We require all participants to register before taking part. You will be asked to submit the name, email address and date of birth of the participant - these details are purely for the purposes of child protection. Our class instructors will monitor each session for behaviour and age appropriate attendance. We will ask you to ensure that your camera is activated before the class starts to verify the age of all participants. We advise young adults to let their parents know that they are taking part in an online class, to make sure you are the only person on camera and to use only a first name in any profile you set up with Zoom.
